Natural History
Some of the creatures I met, and a little of what is known about them
A note before reading.
Saint Brandon supports at least 175 documented species of reef fish across more than thirty families, around 36 species of hard coral, 6 species of soft coral, 12 species of macroalgae, several species of sea cucumber and giant clam, and breeding colonies of more than half a dozen seabird species, totalling hundreds of thousands of birds at peak season, and over a million at the height of the sooty tern breeding cycle. What follows is not exhaustive, it’s what I met with my own eyes.
